My biggest takeaways were: how unethical behaviour creates credibility craters, the power of using System 2 thinking to frame messages for System 1 decision-making, and the reminder to retreat into the no with real concessions. I also loved the nuance of showing people we genuinely like them, and how unity and asking for advice builds true partnership.

I’m already applying these lessons in my coaching work with leaders.

I met Patrick a while ago and was fascinated by his knowledge of the art of persuasion and I’m currently doing the Persuasion Continuity Program which I’m loving! It’s great because its a short session each week touching on different factors (and there are SO many!) so it doesn’t take much time but it teaches me something new every day. I’m not new to sales or business but some of the subtle nuances make all the difference, like one word in the copy on a sale page or to show social proof or the psychology behind giving something for free for reciprocity instead of asking for an email first, and things you’d never even think of that make a big difference. I’m very interested in psychology and this is giving me some great foundational knowledge in short bursts so I can keep focused and then try implementing each new thing one at a time so it’s not too much information all at once. I have been working with Patrick for a few weeks now and have completed my first session out of a eight-week course in persuasion and influence. This week I received a submission form from my website from an international client from the United States. We got on a zoom session and discussed the products and services we provide which aligned with what he was looking for.
